Tip: Amtrak’s Red Cap Baggage Assistance

Amtrak Red Cap Baggage Assistance

In select stations, Amtrak offers free Red Cap service to assist passengers with baggage to and from their trains. But this dedicated Red Cap Team of Amtrak members does more than just carry luggage. They help passengers with disabilities, senior citizens, and large groups navigate the station. They operate motorized vehicles (to carry your 50lbs bags), wheelchair lifts, ramps, and provide general assistance to visitors of the station, including bathroom locations. Thank you for the tip, Nate.

Recommendation: Enjoy the Journey, Not Just The Destination

Train travel helps you arrive refreshed and ready to explore. You’ll feel better while promoting sustainability and reducing your carbon footprint. Take in the views from your window seat. Watch landscapes transform as you cross different regions. Explore new terrain while sitting comfortably in your train car. Train travel eliminates the stress of driving or navigating traffic. You won’t need to factor in long security lines or early airport arrivals. Many routes offer dining cars where you can enjoy meals with panoramic views. Some trains feature observation cars with glass ceilings for optimal sightseeing. Train stations themselves often showcase beautiful architecture worth experiencing.
